All49ers – A Fun First Year
When I decided to start All 49ers UK a year ago, it was very much designed to be a fun exercise, which would give me a chance to set out my own personal views on the team and share my NFL experiences.
Over the last year, I have been able to see the team play in Atlanta and I got the opportunity to attend a Playoff game at Levi’s. In between these trips, I was able to go to an NFL International Series games in London and Munich.
The most enjoyable part of this years’ experience has been the establishment of some new friendships and meeting the 49ers' community both in the US and the UK.
Here are some of my highlights:
Munich –
The NFL decided to expand the international series into Germany, and I was fortunate enough to get a ticket to the see the first game to be hosted in Munich, between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks.
The experience was truly amazing and the atmosphere in Munich the evening before the game was electric.
The fan experience on the day of the game, was first class and the NFL and Munich truly put on a show, highlighted by the fan’s rendition of John Denver's 'Take Me Home Country Road', that will go down as one of my top sporting memories and I will always treasure that evening in Munich. I was also fortunate enough to bump into Neil Reynolds and Jason Bell at Munich airport on the way home, they are Sky Sports NFL TV presenters, they were both extremely welcoming.
Atlanta
I have done a blog on my trip to Atlanta, and I would recommend to any fan, especially those in the UK, if you get a chance, try to go and see the team play an away regular season game. Thank you to everyone I met in Atlanta.
Playoff Football at Levi’s
The 49ers hosted the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs at Levi’s.
The whole weekend was just incredible, from being at the Marriott hotel and spotting a few of the players before the game, to spending time with the 49ersRushRoadTrip team and meeting John and Wayne.
Levi’s has truly started to become a real home, and the team have developed a winning culture at home, the energy and excitement in the stadium was a sight to behold.
As a fan you cherish any playoff game, and we should never take for granted what this team has done in a very short period and being able to consistently compete at the end of the season.
I am looking forward to what the next season has in store for me, I will try to post my own thoughts on the team as and when I can and continue to share my experiences.
Let's Go Niners!!!
