I recently attended London’s first 49ers Fan Watch Party, and what struck me from attending the event, was firstly, how many 49ers fans are planning or looking to in the future organise a trip to see the 49ers at Levi’s.
Here are some of my takeaways from my most recent trip to Levi's Stadium for the 49ers vs. Cardinals game:
- Stadium Atmosphere: Levi's Stadium is known for its modern amenities and fan-friendly environment. The overall fan experience at the stadium was excellent, great views and stadium is modern and easy to navigate around.
- Tailgating and Pre-game Activities: Many NFL fans enjoy the tailgating experience before games. If you are attending a game, I would recommend a Tailgate party, there are loads to choose from, I always go to 49ers RushRoadtrip Tailgate, John Chapman (@JL_Chapman) and his team do a great job of making the game day experience really fun and entertaining, you can purchase your tickets from this link https://tailgreeter.com/49ers-rush
- Game-Day Rituals: Every fan has their game-day rituals and traditions. Since I have been going to see the 49ers, I like to get to the stadium early, I would recommend a Bloody Mary at the Hilton Hotel near the stadium.
- Travelling: I recommend you plan your trip to the stadium, especially if you are staying downtown San Francisco and I recommend that you give yourself between 45 minutes to one hour to get to the ground. I suggest you check this link out, it give you all you need to know about the various policies on game day, (49ers.com | The Official Site of the San Francisco 49ers)
- Tickets: Getting tickets for 49ers games is easy to do, there are various outlets, (always check 49ers Tickets | San Francisco 49ers - 49ers.com ) that offer tickets. I generally always use NFL Ticket exchange (San Francisco 49ers Tickets | 2023 NFL Tickets & Schedule | Ticketmaster) and you can get tickets to both and away games.
- Interacting with Other Fans: Attending an NFL game often provides opportunities to interact with fellow fans, both from your own team and the opposing team and this is one of the more aspects of attending an NFL game. I have been to several games at Candlestick and Levi’s and the opposing team fans make the experience more fun, their interaction, and all of it is good humour. Most fans are generally shocked that I have travelled from the UK to watch the game.
- Food and Beverage Options: Levi's Stadium is known for offering a variety of food and beverage options and this is improving every year and again I was impressed was the various options and how easy it was to get a drink or food.
- View of the Game: Levi’s is one of best grounds to view the game, agreed, if it is very sunny day, make sure you bring a hat and some shades, as the stadium design does mean that most of the stadium, gets a good healthy dose of sunshine and coming from England, I never complain about that!
- Places to Stay: This time around, I stayed near San Jose, rather than downtown, San Francisco. San Jose is a great City, nice restaurants and bars and gave me easy access to the stadium. If you are looking to plan a trip to San Francisco, I can recommend a great Travel Counsellor, who will manage all aspects of your trip, from flights to hotel accommodation (Nargis Robertson - Travel Counsellors), you can quote TC49ers
Attending NFL games in person can be a thrilling experience, and it's a great way for fans to connect with their favourite teams and fellow supporters and I recommend it to all UK fans. I am looking forward to my next trip.
